Attendance of one and only one open meeting is REQUIRED for any prospect to join the club. Email us by August 31st if you know in advance you absolutely cannot attend either meeting OR if you encounter special circumstances on the day of the meeting. However, if your schedule does not even have space for one meeting, you should reconsider whether or not AP Ambassadors is the right club for you. You are NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND, but still welcome if you show up at both meetings, especially when you have questions after the first meeting and prefer a conversation in person with our members or Ms. Padilla. However, we ask you to please be mindful of the room capacity and voluntarily leave if the room gets too crowded. * C&D will be off limit during lunch unless students present a pre-approved club meeting pass to the campus advisers. Unfortunately, the passes are only available for official club members. Arriving early and coming through before the advisers are in their positions might be the only solution for those who do not have 4th period in C/D. We apologize for the inconvenience if the teachers do stop you from passing without a proof. Please be respectful and follow school policy. We look forward to meeting you at the meeting! :') As summer vacation comes to an end and a bright new school year unfolds, AP Ambassadors is looking for more students to join our club and to uphold our legacy. We have already exchanged several interesting conversations with some of the great talents at AHS during the Junior Kick-off day, and we cannot wait to meet more of you! If you think you are a responsible individual who works hard and would like to give back to the Moor society, we appreciate your interest in the club and we invite you to be part of the family!
We are open to all grades, all ethnicities and all backgrounds. AHS has an extremely diverse demographics and we are more than glad to represent that diversity. The only prerequisite is that you have to have already completed at least one AP/Honors course. Since we do provide weekly tutoring, we believe students who have experienced the rigorous AP/Honors curriculum would be more familiar with the materials, and be more able to tutor and help their peers. If you are not sure whether you qualify or not, simply contact any member in the club to find out. In order to join us, come to our open meeting, complete an application (hard copies would be provided at the meeting, digital document can be found online), acquire a recommendation letter from one of your former teachers, and submit the application package before the due date. Recruitment will start in late August or early September. Open meeting dates would be posted later on this website and can also be found in the school bulletin. Although we would love as much help as possible, we do have limited spots available in the club. Therefore, every student who is willing to join needs to go through the selection process. If you are not selected this year, don't get upset! You can still help out during AP Parent Night as a volunteer and keep applying next year. Stay tuned for more updates... :) |
